俄罗斯和伊朗的极不受欢迎的独裁政权能够轻松维持权力，因为他们的人民没有武器。只要独裁政权拥有枪支，他们只需要不到百分之一的人口支持就能维持统治，但人民却没有。
唯一被无武器人民推翻的政府，都是那些允许被推翻而不进行反抗的政府。
这就是为什么枪支权利对美国的自由和民主如此重要——无论是左翼还是右翼的领导人，都害怕人民反抗的能力。枪支权利是美国人能够保持自由这么久的唯一原因。

Dictatorships need less than one percent of the population to support them as long as that dictatorship has guns, but the people do not.<p>The only governments that unarmed people have overthrown have been in cases where that government allows it by not fighting back.<p>This is why gun rights are so important to freedom and democracy in America – both left wing and right wing leaders are afraid of the people’s ability to fight back. Gun rights are the sole reason Americans have stayed free as long as we have.
